Xenagos employs a modular architecture to provide dynamic, interactive, multimedia, and multilingual functionality. Administrators may modify and adapt the system to meet any future requirements as conditions change, such as area-re-design, exhibit expansion, budgetary considerations, and more.
The Xenagos architecture allows content distribution to any software platform (Windows, Linux, MAC OS, iOS, Android, Windows Phone) and on any device (Personal Digital assistant (PDA), Smart Phones, Tablets, Laptops, Info-kiosks etc.) The system-design is based on the use of open models to ensure independence from closed technologies, and facilitate the interoperability between heterogeneous systems (ex. Europeana, Wikipedia, etc.). Content-availability is achieved with a Creative Commons 3.0 license.
